Using This Strip

This is pure nickel strip for spot welding cylindrical cells such as 18650, 21700, and 32140.

• Current: plan on about 5 A continuous per strip path between cell groups. For more current, use more strip paths, stack two layers, or add copper under the nickel.
• Welding: spot weld only, never solder to a cell. Start at your welder's lowest setting and test on a scrap cell first. A good weld tears the nickel when you pull the strip off.
• Pure vs plated: leave a cut piece in salt water overnight. Pure nickel stays clean; nickel-plated steel rusts at the cut edge.
