Sodium is more abundant and sustainably resourced compared to lithium, so it has the ability to be a cheaper replacement to lithium-ion.
Sodium-ion batteries are also known for their stable electrochemical performance, which translates to a longer cycle life. This longevity can reduce the cost of ownership over time. Sodium-ion cells offer a lower energy density compared to LFP cells, but a higher energy density compared to lead acid.
