314Ah LiFePO4 Prismatic Cell: The 1 kWh Building Block for DIY Home Storage

The 314Ah cell is the current workhorse of stationary storage: about 1 kWh per cell in the same footprint as the 280Ah cells it replaced. Four make a 4 kWh 12V bank. Sixteen make a 16 kWh 48V bank that sits right inside the battery window of most 48V inverters. If you've built with 280Ah cells, your fixtures, busbar spacing, and compression plates carry over.

New, Grade A energy-storage cells, sold in matched sets.

What you get when you buy cells from OGS

We've spent years building relationships with the cell factories we buy from, ordering from them again and again and checking what shows up. We only list cells from reputable manufacturers we trust, so you're not gambling on an unknown seller or a listing that doesn't match the cell in the box.

  • Vetted suppliers: new Grade A cells from tier-one LFP manufacturers, matched for voltage and internal resistance within each set.
  • Specs we've reviewed: we go through the full datasheet for every cell we sell and put the numbers that matter (charge limit, low cut-off, temperature limits, BMS settings) on this page.
  • Your batch, confirmed: we send you the manufacturer, model, and datasheet for your cells before they ship. If it isn't what you expected, we cancel and refund before anything ships.
  • One point of contact: if a cell arrives damaged or out of spec, you deal with us, not a factory sales rep on the other side of the world.
  • Freight, duties, and customs handled: the price includes delivery to the US mainland. No surprise tariff bills.
  • Lead time: confirmed when we confirm your order. Large cells ship as dangerous goods, so plan on weeks, not days.
📐 Cell Specifications (typical 314Ah ESS cell)
  • Chemistry: LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate), graphite anode
  • Nominal Voltage: 3.2 V
  • Nominal Capacity: 314 Ah (≈1,005 Wh)
  • Voltage Range: 2.5 to 3.65 V
  • Standard Charge / Discharge: 0.5P (about 157 A)
  • Cycle Life: rated 6,000 to 8,000+ cycles depending on manufacturer (exact rating on your batch datasheet)
  • Charge Temperature: 0 °C to 55 °C (no charging below freezing)
  • Discharge Temperature: −20 °C to 55 °C
  • Dimensions: about 207 × 174 × 72 mm (H × W × T)
  • Weight: about 5.5 to 5.7 kg
  • Grade: new Grade A, factory QR code on every cell, matched for voltage and internal resistance within each set
⚡ Why 314Ah Instead of 280Ah
  • 12% more energy in the same box. 314Ah fits the 280Ah footprint, so a rack or enclosure designed for 280Ah cells gains capacity with no redesign.
  • It's where the factories went. Tier-one makers shifted their ESS lines to 314Ah, so this is the cell with the deepest supply and the newest production dates.
  • Clean 1 kWh math. One cell is about 1 kWh, so sizing a bank is just counting cells.

Need cold-weather discharge or a lithium-free bank? Look at our 160Ah NFPP and 210Ah layered oxide sodium-ion cells. They share this footprint and discharge down to −40 °C. LFP wins on cost per kWh and fits 48V inverters with no voltage tricks.

🔋 Pack Sizing: 12V, 24V, and 48V Banks
Target Pack Series Nominal Full Charge (3.65 V/cell) Energy Order
12V 4S 12.8 V 14.6 V 4.0 kWh 4-pack
24V 8S 25.6 V 29.2 V 8.0 kWh 2 x 4-pack
48V 16S 51.2 V 58.4 V 16.1 kWh 16-pack

Most builders charge to 3.45 to 3.55 V per cell (55.2 to 56.8 V at 16S) for long life and set the low cut-off around 2.8 to 3.0 V per cell. The last few percent at either end isn't worth the wear.

🛠 Integration Notes (Read Before Building a Pack)
  • BMS with balancing is required. Size it for your inverter's peak current, with a low-temperature charge cut-off at 0 °C.
  • Compression matters on large prismatics. Clamp the stack evenly so the cells can't swell freely over their life. Our compression plates are cut for this footprint.
  • Insulate between cells. On many models the aluminum case sits at terminal potential. Use separator sheets between cells and keep the factory wrap intact.
  • Busbars and torque: use flexible or laminated busbars rated for your current, and torque terminal hardware to the value on your batch datasheet.
  • Top-balance before first use if your BMS has a small balance current. It saves days of slow balancing later.
  • Don't mix cells: keep each series string to one order and one batch.
📋 Warranty & Arrival
  • Check on arrival: measure every cell's voltage and look up each QR code before you build. Report anything out of family within 7 days.
  • Arrived damaged? Photograph the packaging and cells before you unpack further and contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Warranty terms follow the cell manufacturer and are included with your batch datasheet.
