Finish Your 4S Battery Pack With a Rust-Free Aluminum Cover
The OGS aluminum battery cover wraps a 4-cell row of 280Ah to 320Ah prismatic LFP or sodium-ion cells. It protects the cells and busbars from tools, dropped hardware and bumps, and gives you a solid place to mount your main battery connectors. It is designed to work with our aluminum compression plates: the cover nests between the plates and rests on their threaded rods, so it installs with no tools and no hardware. Designed in Michigan, made in the USA.

Key features
- No rust. Aluminum forms its own protective oxide layer. Garages, sheds, cabins, vans and boats are all fine.
- Drops in, no tools. The cover nests between your OGS compression plates and rests on the threaded rods. Nothing to screw or rivet.
- Protects what matters. Keeps tools, screws and stray wires away from cell terminals and busbars.
- Connector mounting built in. Mount two 200A snap-fit quick disconnects on the cover so your battery cables plug into the cover, not into the cell terminals.

How to install
- Build and clamp the pack first. Install the compression plates and tighten the rods.
- Insulate. Aluminum conducts electricity and cell cases can carry voltage. Place our epoxy dividers or EVA foam dividers between the cells, and add insulating sheet wherever the cover could touch a cell or busbar.
- Set the cover in place. Lower it between the compression plates so it rests on the threaded rods.
- Mount your quick disconnects in the cover cutouts (four M4 screws each) and connect them to the pack with 1 AWG cable.
Building 8S or 16S? Line them up
Each cover fits a row of 4 cells. For longer rows, set 2 covers (8S) or 4 covers (16S) end to end, then join them where they meet with a stainless steel spring edge clip (U clip) rated for 1/16 in (1.6 mm) panels. Press one clip over the top lip on each side, centered on the seam, so it grips both covers. Stainless steel clips will not corrode against aluminum.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit an 8S or 16S pack?
Yes. Line up 2 or 4 covers end to end and join them with stainless steel spring edge clips sized for 1/16 in (1.6 mm) panels. See "Building 8S or 16S" above.
Is it sealed or waterproof?
No. The cover leaves about 1 to 2 mm of clearance at each end and is open where it meets the plates. It protects against bumps, tools and dropped hardware, not water or dust. The quick disconnects themselves are waterproof.
Do I need to insulate?
Yes. Aluminum conducts electricity and cell cases can carry voltage. Use epoxy or foam dividers between cells, and keep terminals and busbars clear of the cover.
Will it rust?
No. Both finishes are aluminum all the way through.
Does it work without the OGS compression plates?
No. The cover is sized to nest between our plates and rest on their threaded rods. Other plates have different rod positions and will not support it.
